Hey – it’s me, Lesley Salman (Salman Home Realty) with my cohost Kristina Schnack-Kotlus with PWCMoms.com (if you’re lookin’ for a great group of women in our area – you gotta check these ladies out) and we’ve got the “cool down low” on an amazing way to keep the kids and you cool on these insanely hot days!
We’re at Splashdown Water Park! Chris Kelly, GM, and Kat Fish (love that name), the Aquatics Manager, sat down with me and Kristina to give us a little backstory on this local water park.
Splashdown has three slide towers – the tall pipeline, the cannonball drop, and a third smaller slide – something for every water-fueled thrill seeker.
But probably everyone’s favorite part of Splashdown – the lazy river. It’s the most relaxing part of Splashdown and the adults LOVE it. Have little ones? Splashdown has your back with a small children area for 42” and under only.
Forget your suntan lotion? Flipflops? Towels? Swim shoes? Splash Down has a small retail shop to get you through the day.
Most people aren’t aware, but Splashdown is great for groups. The “island” is rentable – meaning your birthday party, family reunion, or campers can have an organized, spacious day in the sun and water! They also have two eateries – salad, ice cream, pizza, funnel fries, tater tots – really, if you want it, they got it. And get away from it all at Coconut Cove!
Splashdown is all about safety with their extensive lifeguard training. It’s their top priority and they send each lifeguard through a 25-hour training course. In addition, each month they must complete 4 hours of safety training to be able to work at Splashdown.
We love Splashdown and so does Northern Virginia – they’ve been voted Best Of for just about every magazine when it comes to summer fun.
