Hey! It’s Lesley and Alba back for your weekly dose of what’s going on in Going Gainesville! This week, we’re at The Winery at La Grange located at 4970 Antioch Rd, Haymarket, VA 20169.

Katie, the tasting room manager, met us at Manor House – a house built in 1827 by Mr. Harrison – a wealthy state delegate from Prince William. The oldest part of the home was constructed in 1790!

La Grange offers everything from tastings to private events, live music, food trucks, fancy gentlemen nights, and the dog days of summer!

Seth Chambers, the head winemaker at La Grange, breaks down the process of grape to grass at the Winery. The grapes are grown, picked, processed, and aged right at the winery – it’s the grape version of farm to table – grape to glass!

We tasted the 2015 Meritage – a blend of 4 Bordeaux grapes – ending up in a rich, soft, and beautiful color. What you’ll taste is a mix of vanilla followed by boysenberry and dates making a really (really) tasty wine.

Thanks for watching, and stay tuned, because we’re #GoingGainesville and so are you!
