Today, I’m joined by my camera-shy co-host (just kidding), Josiah Mendoza, who has actually been behind the camera for most of our Going Gainesville featured vids! He runs Josiah Mendoza Photo&Video Productions, and if you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge fan of his work.
We’re powering up at Powers Farm and Brewery and we’re gonna check out some beers!
We sat down with owners Kevin and Melody Powers to hear more about this quaint farm and brewery. So Powers is my personal favorite – the venue is amazing, the beers are just as delicious and unique. So what else do they do here?
Powers Farm is not just a name. It’s an actual farm! From agriculture to produce and flowers. You see, Powers is a “CSA” a community-supported agricultural farm which means people can come for 15 weeks and get fresh produce and whatever’s on tap and walk home with a bouquet of fresh flowers – pesticide and chemical-free.

PowersFest is coming up! The third weekend in October brings as many local businesses as Powers Farm can find to bring local even more local. All-day music, all-day fun, family-friendly, and dog-friendly too!
But back to the beer. What’s the fan favorites? Powers is always adding to their menu, but they have a few they try to keep on tap for beer lovers. The lemongrass Pilsner which is a nice clean lager style beer that’s made with lemongrass grown on the farm! Strawberry is another favorite.
